The Academy of the Sacred Heart and Berchmans Academy in 大高地, 洛杉矶是独立的, 天主教, co-institutional college-preparatory institutions.  Our schools offer single-gender education; The Academy of the Sacred Heart, 成立于1821年, offers instruction to girls, one-year-old through twelfth grade and Berchmans Academy, 成立于2006年, offers instruction to boys, one-year-old through twelfth grade.

The Academy of the Sacred Heart and Berchmans Academy are seeking one full-time 英语 教师 上学校 (grades 8-12)  for the 2024-25 school year.  An 上学校 faculty member is directly accountable to the 上学校 Division Head.  S(he) works with the Division Head, 教务长, 学生, and 父母 to animate the spirit and life of the school through the 目标和标准 of Sacred Heart education.  (他):

• Understands, embraces, and implements the school's mission and philosophy as articulated in the 目标和标准; participates in the Christ-centered life of the school; and models the school's philosophy in working with 学生, 父母, 和他的同事们.
• Works with the Division Head to execute responsibilities relating to the academic program, classroom management, 学生评价, 进度报告, and parent communication.
• Collaborates with the Humanities Department Chair and the Curriculum Coordinator with executing best practices in curriculum development and implementation.
• Collects, analyzes, and shares information about student progress and goals for growth.
• Communicates with school counselor, 大学辅导员, and learning specialist as needed to aid 学生 in achieving the maximum development and social, 情感, and intellectual growth.
• Actively supervises as well as interacts with 学生.  Plans and maintains a safe, clean learning environment, ensuring the well-being and safety of 学生 in his/her care.
• Attends and participates in the following: chapels, liturgical functions, 父组件, 会议, and other school functions, 按照要求.  Assists with additional duties, as necessary.
• Maintains professional currency by yearly participating in the professional development program which includes opportunities for attendance at 会议, 研讨会, 研究院, educational meetings, and advanced coursework.
• Agrees to fulfill terms of the contract of employment.
• Models ethical and professional behavior including compliance with the school's technology and social media policy.

preferred qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in 英语 with a current secondary certification to teach.
• Ability to design innovative and engaging instruction.
• Enthusiasm for working collaboratively with colleagues and the willingness to plan learning experiences.
